Omnism is a belief system which suggests that every religion is an interpretation of a universal truth.This realm of understanding is so far beyond us that we create spiritual belief systems to try and depict it, understand it, and connect with it.

But at the end of the day, they’re all really the same thing. Different stories of the same phenomena pointing towards the existence of life after death, that we’re all just tiny parts of an incomprehensibly grand system.

Omnism is a spiritual belief system that suggests every religion is an interpretation of a universal truth. Instead of being limited to a single set of beliefs, omnists looks at the bigger picture of existence – which is recorded in every culture throughout humanity.

omnists cheery pick information that resonates with their own spiritual beliefs, and discard whatever doesn’t fit into their framework. This selective picking isn’t based on a particular religion or ideology, rather they look for the commonalities – and at what appears most logical.

That means omnism isn’t a structured religion, it’s more a mash-up of different spiritual doctrines. But you will find that people who identify as omnists tend to agree and disagree on the same things.

There are prevalent themes amongst different religious or spiritual beliefs, and there are individual themes. Omnists pick out the common themes, meaning most omnists are going to have a pretty similar picture of spirituality.

All religions are touching different parts of the same elephant.Instead of picking a single limb and labeling it as the entire animal, omnists recognize a connection between each religion, and seek to understand what it means.

There is some truth and some nonsense behind every religion. They act as signposts to depict broader ideas about a greater reality, however they should all be taken with a grain of salt.

It’s important not to discard the entire religion, because there are hidden truths behind each one of them. When you look at the overlapping themes, you’ll find some prominent commonalities between them. For example, karma is a common theme amongst spiritual belief systems, as is reincarnation and the concept of higher powers.

Therefore, the best way to think about it is that no religion is accurate, but no religion is necessarily incorrect. They’re all narrow pathways to a broader destination.

Some religions may be more accurate than others, but they are all pointing towards the same phenomenon – spirituality. Many indigenous, shamanic, holistic, and metaphysical beliefs also share the same center of spirituality. Every spiritual belief shares the same core, it’s just a matter of how deep you dig into it.

People have created fictional stories to simplify much more complicated ideas. These stories present a watered-down version of universal truths that are much easier to swallow.

It’s fair to assume that most religious teachings are misconstrued, but there are still some universal truths hidden among them.Omnism seeks the hidden truths that are still apparent within religions, and puts the puzzle pieces together to form the bigger picture of spirituality at whole.

I’m sure there’s plenty of stuff that is true, in religious scripture, from iconic philosophers and spiritual masters.But there’s a lot of bullshit too. People often interpret the teachings found in religion literally. They will believe every word they hear without brushing the dust off the teachings.

The ideas depicted in religions are often silly in their metaphorical state, but have a deeper meaning that needs to be interpreted. This is why it’s also important to be discerning, and keep a healthy level of skepticism about everything you hear.

In this sense, religions are vessels to convey deeper truths about our existence that can’t really be explained.This is where religions and their various personalities play a role, as metaphors pointing towards something ‘real’. So religions ARE just stories, but this doesn’t mean that they are fairy-tales either.

Do you ever wonder if the bible is full of truth, or full of shit?After all, this ancient literature has been around for thousands of years, and held to a prestigious extreme. But it was also written by people, as with other ancient spiritual scriptures such as the Quran.

It’s important to realize that each religious script was written by people.People are flawed.Everyone has their own interpretations and personal biases. Each philosophy has been disseminated throughout thousands of years to the state we see them today.

I think it’s fair to say that all holy scriptures have been somewhat fictionalized, doctored, and edited. Holy scriptures have been, and still are used as tools for manipulation and control on a grand scale.Back in their pure state, maybe they were full of spiritual truths and wisdom, but now, they’re mostly political tools which contain segments of truth.

Written recordings have been changed, burned, and tampered with. Many of the messages within holy scriptures have become corrupted, and most of the teachings have become lost in fiction.

I have no doubt that the bible was once full of truth. But this is what thousands of years of greed, narrow-mindedness, and corruption does.

Once you sheer the layers of wool that has accumulated through millennia of misinterpretation and dissemination, you can identify universal truths among religious teachings and scriptures.Omnism becomes the act of weeding out hidden truths, and finding the common denominator between every teaching.

Religions denote the existence of other realms. These dimensions are are energetic in nature. They don’t run on the same laws that our universe does – meaning things like time, space, matter, don’t really exist out there.

Every religion asserts that there is some form of higher realm that we return to at the time of death. This realm goes by different names including ultimate reality, the spirit realm, source, the universal consciousness, and the astral planes, and so on.

What we’re experiencing right now is the 3rd dimension. What we understand of the 5th dimension is what most of us think of when we picture the spiritual realm.

All religions state that consciousness is separable from the carnal fabric of an organism – That the body and mind are stripped from the soul at the time of death.This is different to athiest views which believe that consciousness is a byproduct of the mind and body, not something else entirely.

All religions depict a divine state of love and light which is called heaven, bliss, nirvana, and paradise. Most religions also describe a counter effect, and a state of unparalleled pain and darkness.

They usually believe that higher dimensions are populated with all sorts of intelligent life. From gods, to deities, to spirits and aliens. This higher power is commonly depicted as the collective of all consciousness, which may or may not be sentient in the way we understand.

Most religions also state that authentic happiness is the result of virtuous behavior, benevolence and a high-vibration. Suffering is associated with malevolence, destruction, and a low-vibration.

In this sense, religions often teach that if you are on a virtuous path which is associated with the light, you will be rewarded with happiness – enlightenment – moksha (ending the cycle of rebirth).

At the end of the day, they’re all the same thing – the same story told in different ways.

The icons that religions were based off, were probably real people. These individuals could have had transcendent experiences through a complete submersion into the infinite. They then pulled out some profound wisdom from it, and spread their philosophies.

Religions were then formed around their philosophies and teachings. Some of these people areknownas Jesus, Mohammad, and Buddha. If they all sat around a table together, not only would it make for some pretty great jokes, but they would all probably agree upon a very similar experience.

Since they didn’t have a nice chat as they were separated by hundreds of years and several contents in some cases, the interpretation of this realm was told differently. Humans are inefficient communicators at best, and there’s only so much information that you can really convey through the human body.

Jesus was not a Christian. Christianity formed around the interpretation of Jesus. Mohammad was not a Muslim, Islam based its faith on his interpretation. Likewise, Taoism, Hinduism, and other religions typically base themselves around certain individuals, headpieces for the religions.

Religions were formed around people who had a universal experience. This experience is what needs to be looked at, not the interpretations themselves.

All of these religions started popping up in every culture around the globe, in roughly the same period of time. They all state similar truths, despite having had no interaction or communication with one another. Could this just be a coincidence, or is this the result of real people having real experiences?
